desktop icon labels

Has there been a new feature slipped in where only the icons are shown and not there respective labels? I've done something and all I can see on the desktop are the IE, My Computer and Recycle Bin icons

I have the same problem and cannot find anywhere to restore them.
All the icons are there, but no captions/labels.

Right click Desktop > click Personalize > under (Task) click "Change desktop icons" > click "Restore Default" to see if it fixes it. If it does not file a report on the issue using the following links: For Feedback: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=55160
